Recent attacks on companies enabled for trust by default in browsers and operating systems have led many to question the state of the internet trust infrastructure. There have been a number of proposals generated to either replace or enhance the existing SSL/TLS CA system as a result. This talk will summarize the strengths and weaknesses of the major proposals in comparison to the existing system and introduce a metric developed to facilitate a comparative analysis of these proposals, revealing the results of that analysis in accordance with the developed metric.
